Ahh, Repub...any true FSUer has this as a must-stop on their Frostburg bar tour. I rated this as a 5 not because it's modern (it ain't), clean (not particularly), or has a particular special or food that's a can't miss (nope and nope). It's just that, for FSU students, RePub has a long-established reputation as THE place to hang out many nights, and its drink prices are great for college students and almost laughable for the post-grad crowd. After a couple $6 Coors Light pitchers, we switched to $3 Milwaukee's Best pitchers because we could no longer taste the difference. LOL Great dance music after 10 most nights, a friendly staff, and the famous Thursday Night Dime Draft Night from 8-10 p.m. (I met my wife at Dime Draft Night - God Bless You Repub!) After 10 years away from Frostburg, it literally felt like stepping back in time. NOTHING had changed, which in many cases is a great thing!

The Daft Zone was a pleasant surprise during our Reunion Tour of Frostburg. A relatively new bar located on Main Street, the bar was spacious, clean and boasted pool tables, several booths, darts and other games. The main attraction of this bar, I think, is it's collection of Microbrews. Probably no other bar in Frostburg boasts their selection. According to my friends, the bartender (Heather) was easy on the eyes, which I would tend to agree with. All fot eh staff there were friendly, and the food my friends ordered (I arrived late) was rated as very good, and prices were extremely reasonable. The Draft Zone has something called a Mug Club (worth looking into) and it's Happy Hour is 4-6 on Mondays thru Fridays, and they are supposed to have $.50-$.75 drafts during that time. The only slight drawback to DZ is that it wasn't as crowded as one would think for a bar of its quality on a Saturday night. Perhaps its collection of microbrews is slightly upscale for the as-yet-unrefined college crowd. LOL

Bowery Street Pub, in addition to the listed prices, also has the following specials (didn't fit into the site format): Monday is Greek Night, drink specials 8-12 if weearing letters; Friday is Bartender's Choice; Sunday is Service Industry Night, $.50 off mixed drinks, and also NFL Craze from 8-10 $.50 drafts. Happy Hour is Monday thru Friday 4-6; Saturday 3-6; and Sunday 2-4.
